Project Information:
Given the opportunity to propose a unique design in the small, picturesque village of Hemingford Abbots, located on the southern bank of the great river Ouse, PiP designed two exceptional quality and energy efficiency proposals with little to no visual impact on the immediate character of the village.
For the villa proposal, PiP aimed to create a distinctively modern approach for a family home in an area which exemplifies a variety of architecture across several centuries. One of the features that elongate the modernist style of the villa is the continuous lines, which deliver a high-quality finish. Besides, the slim framed windows provide the villa with an illusion of a cantilevered floor slab and roof. Finally, as a complement, the flat roof enhances the long sweeping design; takes full advantage of the views across the meadow.
