Our Philosophy

Strong relationships underlie our wide design experience of architectural work in the residential sector. We promote cost-effectiveness to maximise gross development value while maintaining good design principles within the framework of local and national policy.

By effective communication with local planning authorities, independently or as part of a design team, we maintain a high success rate in all our designs. This includes those on exception sites, locations with challenging constraints, change of use, high-density developments and key worker and affordable homes, as well as expertise in handling conservation areas and listed buildings. With unrivaled expertise in producing building-regulation-compliant construction drawings, NBS specifications, and negotiated or formal tenders, our technical capabilities ensure the best possible package for a scheme that is on time and on budget.

A Starting Point

Mapping out key project challenges and opportunities reflecting the brief

with potential areas of exploration and approaches to the specification. Our

response is to produce an original, visually stimulating document that draws

on the distinct character of the area.

Development

Taking a visual approach, using hand-drawn sketches to focus attention on the key characteristics of the area. Starting at street-scale and gradually hone in on finer architectural details – defining the area’s unique vernacular. Exploration of design solutions.

Completion

Identifying tangible areas of interest within the area, looking at the relationship of buildings with the street, private and public, old and new, boundary treatments/landscaping, scale and density, character and appearance for full completion of a project.
