Project Information:

43 Brookfields is a sustainable housing development located at the end of Mill Road and Romsey Conservation area. This development includes the retention, refurbishment and extension of the existing house at 43 Brookfields to provide a pair of high quality semi-detached houses, as well as the construction of a contemporary block of 4 flats to the south of the site, with the aim of preserving the character of the of Perne Road and Mill Road through sensitive consideration of massing, scale and materiality.

The site is situated within a high risk flood zone which meant a key challenge in this project was the site's environmental constraints. We harnessed flood resilient construction methods such as raised floor levels and ground floor level water inlets to help mitigate flood related risks.

This development brings a much needed resurrection to a sustainable site that had fallen into a state of disrepair.
