Project Information:
Courtyard House is a proposal for a new family home in Witcham. Special consideration was given to the form, massing and layout of the house due to the sensitivity of its location within a conservation area and sited between two listed buildings.
To ensure the proposal does not impose on the neighbouring houses, the home is laid across a single storey and hence will be fully compliant with accessibility legislations and suitable as a forever home. To respect the sensitive site boundaries, the house focuses on maximising the daylight and creating moments to link with nature through a fully glazed central courtyard.
The layout has been carefully designed to orient the rooms around the best surrounding views, whilst setting it back from the road to take advantage of the reposeful location.
